About this qualification
Security officers protect premises, assets and the people inside them. The work spans corporate reception and office buildings, retail parks, warehouses, construction sites and manned guarding contracts, and it calls for sound judgement, clear communication and an understanding of where your legal authority begins and ends.
This qualification covers the knowledge the role demands, from the legislation that governs private security through to patrolling, access control, reporting and responding when something goes wrong. It is the training route for anyone applying for an SIA security guarding licence.
