The 3Sixty Protect Close Protection Refresher Course is designed for existing close protection operatives who need to update their knowledge and practical skills before renewing their SIA licence.

Delivered by experienced instructors, the course revisits essential safety-critical knowledge, physical intervention skills and counter-terrorism awareness, helping you respond confidently and professionally to the demands of your role.

Course duration: Three days, plus mandatory pre-course learning.
Qualification: Level 2 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Refresher).

What You Will Learn

The course covers three units:

1. Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)

2. Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)

3. Application of Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)

Training combines classroom learning, instructor demonstrations and supervised practical exercises, with an emphasis on safe working practices and reducing the risks associated with physical intervention.

Assessment

You will complete multiple-choice examinations and practical assessments in accordance with the awarding organisation’s requirements.

Practical assessments will require you to demonstrate the physical intervention skills taught during the course safely and competently. You must successfully complete all required assessments to achieve the qualification.

Entry Requirements and Pre-Course Learning

ACT Counter-Terrorism Training

Before attending, you must complete both of the following free Action Counters Terrorism courses:

• ACT Awareness e-learning

• ACT Security e-learning

For attendance at 3Sixty Protect, please complete both courses within the three months before your course start date.

How to complete your training:

1. Visit ProtectUK and access the e-learning section.

2. Register or sign in and complete both courses.

3. Email both completion certificates to training@3sixtyprotect.com before attending.

Complete any additional pre-course learning provided with your joining instructions by the stated deadline.

Mandatory First Aid Qualification

You must hold a valid Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification, or an SIA-accepted equivalent, before starting the Close Protection Refresher Course.

Your qualification must have at least 12 months’ validity remaining on the course start date.

Please send a copy of your certificate when registering and bring the original certificate on your first day.

If you have booked First Aid training with 3Sixty Protect, you must successfully complete it before starting the refresher course. A booking alone does not satisfy this requirement.

You will be unable to start the refresher course until acceptable evidence of your First Aid qualification has been verified.
